Round to the nearest hundred. This is a packet of 5 pages. One page is for you to print out and give to your students to help them remember when to round up or down. The other 4 pages are practicing rounding to the hundred spot. Students will determine what two hundreds the number is between and which one it is closer to. Then the students will use their knowledge of numbers and round to the nearest hundred. There is one practice page for 3-digit numbers and one for 4-digit numbers.

Do your students need practice in identifying the value of digits in 2-digit numbers or in breaking down numbers into ones and tens? This online, activity in Google Slides using base ten blocks (MAB blocks) will give them plenty of practice, and help develop their understanding of how numbers are made up! Students are presented with two numbers at a time to build by dragging one and ten blocks onto the work mat. The numbers are paired (13 and 31 for example) so that they can easily see how where a digit is placed affects its value. (The numbers 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99 are not included in this activity.)

This makes for a great independent math center activity, or you can project the activity for a whole group look at how to build numbers. There are a total of 45 cards and 90 different numbers between 1 and 98 for students to build. This activity is similar to another one in my store which also asks students to build the number and type the number in words. (Very useful for English language learners who may need help distinguishing between the -ty and -teen numbers.) The other is a customizable template - you decide which numbers you want the students to build on each slide, whereas this activity is a potential time-saver for you as it is ready to go. Buy them as a bundle so you have the convenience of the paired numbers already set up, and the flexibility to create your own question sets!

This particular set is built for teaching percentage equivalence. In this set, I've included decimals, percentages and 100s grids for each percentage from 1% to 100% - so there are 100 cards of each - for a grand total of 300 cards on 20 pages. These first grade math rings are for comparing two digit numbers. There are activities for drawing, using number bonds, addition sentences, greater than and less than, and more or less concepts to explore 2 digit numbers. Set 1: Students are given a number and must draw the number, make it into a number sentence (ex: 33 = 30+3) and create a number bond based on the number sentence. Set 2: Students are given a number and they must draw their number and then write the tens and ones for that number. Set 3: Students must record if the first number is greater than or less than the second number by using the greater than or less than symbol. Set 4: Students will look at two base ten block number representations and will determine if the first set is more or less than the second set. Set 5: Students will look at two different representations of a number (one side will be standard form and the other side will be either base 10 blocks or tens and ones representations) and students must compare and determine which is greater than or less than the first number. Set 6: Students will look at different number representations and determine if the first number is greater than or less than the second number. This set is slightly more difficult than set 5. Recording sheets are available to record your answers or you can laminate the math ring cards and record your answers directly on the cards.
