Graphing Ratios Practice Worksheet

By The M-Intercept

This worksheet provides students with step by step instructions for how to read a word problem, create a ratio table, find missing values on the table, and then graph the ratio table.

This worksheet was designed to supplement our district's curriculum, which expected students to use ratios and graph ratios, but did not provide ample opportunity to practice the skill thoroughly. I hope this worksheet is helpful for you and your students.

Multiplication Fact Booklets

By The Chatty Kinder

Click on Preview to get a FREE copy of 2 Facts Multiplication Booklet!

These multiplication fact booklets can be used to help students understand the concept of multiplication through repeated addition using equal groups as well as help them memorize multiplication facts. Check out the blog post here for more information on the booklets.

The previous set of multiplication booklets was winter themed, while this new set is not holiday/season themed making it suitable for use anytime during the year.

I have made use of cute clipart such as ducks, aliens, gumballs, cookies and donuts to make learning the multiplication facts fun.

There are 12 total booklets (1 facts-12 facts) that are each seven pages long and are cut into half to make a booklet that's 14 pages in total. Each booklet also contains a facts page for the multiplication fact so the student can refer to it if necessary. Check out the blog post about these booklets here.

On each page students will fill in the blanks for the following details:

  • number of equal groups
  • number of counting items for the groups shown (e.g. number of donuts in each box, number of fish in the bowl, etc)
  • write the repeated addition equation for the groups shown (not present in the 1's fact booklet) and add up the total. There is one blank for each group, so the 12 booklet has 12 blanks to fill.
  • number of groups of counting items (e.g. 3 groups of 4, or 5 groups of 6 and so on)
  • Finally, they will write the multiplication statement. This will help them to connect the repeated addition equation to the multiplication fact that they have written down and the answers can be compared to check whether they are the same.

The booklets can be used as morning work, bell work, extra activities for early finishers, or even homework. The booklets come in one version, for front only copies.

Teaching students these multiplication foundations, is a tremendous help to students as they work on math fluency and automaticity.

Check out the preview to see a full copy of the 2 facts booklet included to make sure it is what you need. This is the complete set of the 2 facts booklet, so feel free to use this, to sample out whether this product will work for you.

Math Links- Equation of a Line Given Two Points(like the NYT game "Connections")

By Howlin' Husky Math Games

Have you ever played the New York Times game, "Connections"? This worksheet combines this premise with math to put an exciting spin on learning.

This version concentrates on finding the equation of a line given two points.

Students will solve or simplify the sixteen problems. Then they will inspect the answers and try to find similarities. The sixteen answers can be grouped into four smaller sub groups ranging in difficulty from easy to tricky to find (yellow, green, blue, purple). Each group will have a distinct trait that puts them in this group.

Students can check to make sure a group is correct before trying to find another group. If they guess wrong, they check off a mistake box. Student should try to get all four groups with the least amount of mistakes!

How this activity can be used:

  • Classroom Activity: Use it as an engaging group activity in math class to foster collaboration and critical thinking among students.
  • Homework Assignment: Assign it as homework to reinforce concepts taught in class and provide extra practice with equations and pattern recognition.
  • Math Centers: Incorporate it into math centers or stations for students to work on independently or in small groups.
  • Test Preparation: Use it as a review tool to help students prepare for an upcoming test.
  • Enrichment Activity: Offer it to advanced students as an enrichment activity to challenge their problem-solving abilities.
  • Substitute Teacher Plans: Include it in lesson plans for substitute teachers to ensure students have a meaningful and educational activity to work on in your absence.
  • Home- Schooling: Use the worksheet at home for additional practice.
  • Assessment Tool: Employ it as a formative assessment to gauge students' understanding of equations and their ability to recognize patterns and group related concepts.
