This is a collection of sight word games that I created for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. Each game, you are catching some sort of animal with the sight words written on them.

**These activities will take some prep. Other materials you will need will be popsicle sticks, glue/tape, and scissors**

Between 1 to 4 students can play this game. To play the game, you will need to lay out the animals with the words facing up. Have students sit or stand beside each other with the nets in their hands, holding them all in the same position (so no one tries to cheat). Then call out a word. Students will race to find and catch the animals with the word on it first. Whichever student catches the animal first, they take that animal and add it to their pile. Once all the animals are caught, have students count up how many they have. Whoever has the most wins.

This is for the first 50 Fry sight words. I use it as practice after instruction in my special education classroom, but it would be good for independent practice in the general education classroom. The color, find, trace, read format offers a variety of practice to solidify sight word skills.

INCLUDED:

• spelling PRE- AND POST-test - 3 pages (test, key, info). It has 10 pairs of words and an EASEL OPTION. Students will choose the correctly spelled word from each pair. (anything EASEL or DIGITAL might function differently via TeachShare.)

• vowels / consonants in boxes for tactile/visual spelling - they cut and order the letters with given words. It's 17 pages (including 1 info page). All words are 6 LETTER WORDS with 3 VOWELS AND 3 CONSONTANTS. I've differentiated for higher and lesser difficulties (5 words for regular, higher, and lesser).

• drawing with rhyming words - 10 options, 12 pages. Using 3+ rhyming words from the list, they'll draw an original picture.
