What Students Will Be Doing:
This is a 3-part assignment that incorporates both individual and group assignments. Groups of students (4-6) are responsible for writing an individual monologue, a group script and a final monologue reflection. Students will take on the role of a character from a well known fairy tale. In the individual monologue, students will get to explore the perspective of their character and how the new dilemma a character is faced with should be solved. The group will then figure out a solution to the dilemma and will write a short script to show their resolution. After the group has resolved the dilemma, each character will have an opportunity to reflect on how their character feels about the outcome. Don't worry I've included some rubrics that you can use for each section too and some worksheets to help guide student thinking.

This file includes a turkey body (both in black in white, and in color) and a variety of differentiated turkey feathers. Choose from blank feathers, feathers with one line, feathers with primary writing lines, or feathers with lines & a "My" starting point.
Directions & Suggestions:

Charlotte's Web Novel Study - Lesson Plans Included

This novel study goes along with E. B. White’s Charlotte’s Web. You and your students will go chapter by chapter. Studying the characters, setting, events, point of view, adjectives, text structures (Cause/Effect, Compare/Contrast, and Problem/Solution), and more. It all ends with a watch along with the 2006 live-action movie and a project comparing the movie and the book.
Things that are included in this product are: Completed Lesson Plans for each chapter (also a blank one that is editable), Google Slides to go with each chapter, Doodle notes prompts and organizers for each chapter, End of Chapter activities, Movie Watch Along activity, Assessments, and a Rubric for the project.
At the beginning of each slideshow, there is a review of what the activity will be focused on for that chapter. You might need to teach your students that skill. But this product spiralizes. So you will cover skills, multiple times throughout the read.

The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, and writing these onto the included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual people. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on a neat copy using the template provided.
