I organized it in the following manner: Task Card Scenario numbers correspond with the slang words used in the scenarios. This will allow you to make meaning of slang words being used, so you can get down better with your students! -Lit!

How/When To Use the Scenario Task Cards

• Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
• Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, "How can your respectfully handle this situation," “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other options you could consider?”

This is a great resource early learners, students with autism and learning difficulties to build vocabulary and increase their knowledge of the theme of community helpers. This resource is great for students who are non-verbal. On each card, the student as asked to reflect on the question and give a yes or no answer. They haven’t quite mastered what to say in different situations to ask for help and inform others exactly what they need. This leaves others confused and the students’ needs unmet.

These Task Cards can be used as part of a larger lesson, in guided small groups, whole-class discussions, partner discussion before sharing out with the larger group or class, or even one-on-one with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian! • Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skits for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. You can ask questions like: How would you respond in this situation? What coping strategies can you use to help you navigate this difficult situation? Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios/situations.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class.
