This paired text analysis requires students to first read and analyze the allegory "The Terrible Things". There are questions that ask about author's purpose, symbolism, and comprehension. Next, students will read, annotate, and analyze the poem "First They Came for the Jews". Finally, they will answer a synthesis question in paragraph form while referring to the included rubric. The two text have many similarities for the students to comment on and include in their response.
