Ready to write? This set of 24 writing prompts task cards for September will help you get your writing center started in your class. These slightly simpler prompts give your second, third, and fourth grade students both fiction and non-fiction questions to answer, asking for them to write lists, paragraphs, letters, and simple main idea / details answers, depending upon the question. Also included are two cover pages for both a full size and a half size journal, and four writing to pages to print multiple copies of and bind together with the covers to create student journals. You can choose from simple lines or from primary dotted lines for your journal pages.

Summer Writing Prompts Journal: Writing Challenge Activities for 3rd & 4th Grade:

This 30-Day Summer Writing Challenge for 3rd and 4th graders contains a variety of engaging writing material for your students. There are 30 different writing activities (2 sheets per activity, created to be copied back-to-back and bound into a writing journal, if you choose). For a total of 60 writing pages, you will see the following activities:

• 2 opinion essays
• 2 persuasive essays
• 2 descriptive writing activities
• 2 narrative writing activities
• 1 "how-to" essay

Turtle themed writing paper with lines can be used for for final copies and writing centers in your classroom. Paper is available with and without midlines and in a variety of widths. Use these pages for fiction or nonfiction writing about turtles or nature!

Using these science phenomenon photos is a great way to introduce many of the NGSS. There are 20 different photos; with at least one per standard. The standards are listed at the top of each sheet. Pick and choose what you want. Using this strategy with students creates a routine way of thinking. It requires them to observe, think, and wonder!
