Using this hands on, multisensory activity, students won’t even realize they are learning their letters! In this resource, they will learn letter formation by first building the letters, coloring the letters and pictures, tracing the letter, and writing the letter.
This is not only a fun and engaging way to learn letter formation, but students are working on foundational fine motor skills needed for writing. Students don’t have to use a pencil for writing, try broken crayons (broken crayons help promote tripod grasp pattern), q-tip painting, or fingerpaint. When writing letters for this activity, students use handwriting letter boxes to help with letter size, placement, and spacing. Syllable Awareness Clip Cards - Phonemic - Autism Special Education Speech ESL

There are over 112 colourful, fun, engaging and clap it out visual supported clip cards to support phonemic awareness.
Students are encouraged to read the word on each card (which is supported by a visual cue), then determine the number of syllables for each word and place a peg or clip on the correct answer. There are a total of 44 clip cards for 1-2 word syllable options, then students can progress onto the 3 word syllable options in which there is 68 clip cards.
Students are encouraged to use clothes pegs to identify the right answer. An alternative can be to use a white board marker or simply point. There are over 112 cards which are great for young learners including preschool, kindergarten, students with autism and special education needs.
