English language learners, and others, often need extra practice with making nouns (especially irregular ones) plural. These printable pages and online Google activity provide a fun way for your students to learn these spelling patterns. Quick and easy prep for you - print the pages, and share the Google files in your Google classroom.

Start with the 4 printable pages that introduce the students to plurals that do not simply add ‘s’. Each of the 30 examples is illustrated. Not just a worksheet, these pages can then become a reference sheet for students to keep and refer to. Plural spelling patterns included are:

• words that end in 'y'

• words that end in 's', 'sh', 'ch', or 'x'

• words that don't change

• words that change in the middle

This is a virtual escape room to complete with your students after reading Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. Students will be answering comprehension questions about the story and also having to fill in the blanks for some sight/spelling words. Students could complete this in groups or as individuals.

I would recommend giving students 30 minutes to complete this escape room and displaying that timer in your classroom or on your screen somehow. The only things students will need are a device and maybe a whiteboard or paper for taking notes while they complete the escape room. I hope you enjoy it. Please rate and review.

Got reluctant writers? This no-prep writing intervention resource includes 20 digital writing prompt slides and 9 printable graphic organizers to help students crush writer’s block. Students will generate their own word banks for a given topic, collaborate with peers to discuss and refine their ideas or word banks, engage in short quickwrite activities to build confidence, analyze and revise bad writing samples.
