Looking for a fun Easter or Spring themed activity to do in your classroom? Check out this easy Egg Tangram set. This set contains 22 different tangram shapes for your students to build out of an egg. To use these tangrams, first print out either the color or black shapes (6, 4, or 1 per page) A cardstock would be great as they will be getting lots of handling. Laminating would be even better. Have the full eggs cut apart into the individual pieces. Give a set of pieces to your students and some of the tangram cards. The color ones are easier as students can match shapes and colors. The cards with black designs are harder as the students can only see the final shape. The arrow on the card points to the top when determining how the card will lay. I have also included 3 different sized tangram eggs for you to print out in both color and black/grey. The black tangram eggs have white lines on them so they are easy to see the pieces and cut out. Asymmetric Graph Paper 8.5 x 11 inches 200 pages

An activity to discover the properties of the graphs of sine and cosine. Print off the circle and horizontal axis for each student. Enlarge to A3 if you want to make a display afterwards. You just need to provide some spaghetti and glue.

This is great for teaching trigonometry for angles greater than 90 and visualising the shape of the sine and cosine curves. My students particularly enjoy this one and hope yours do to.

The task: Draw 4 points such that when you connect each point to the other 3 points for a total of 6 line segments, there are exactly 2 distinct lengths of line segments. You must connect each point to every other point.

Use this Treasure / Scavenger Hunt after teaching finding missing side lengths using trigonometry.

I have included all three trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine and tangent). There are a mixture of difficulty. The are questions on finding opposite, adjacent and hypotenuse so in some cases students will need to divide by the trigonometric ratio.

Instructions

• Print off the twenty question pages and put them up around the room
• Each question is in the middle of the page and the solution is at the top of another page.
• Answers are correct to two decimal places where appropriate
• A student begins on a given question, solves it and finds the answer on another sheet. The question on this sheet will be the next question they answer. Once they have answered all twenty, they will return to their starting question
• Depending on numbers, students can all start on different questions
• There is a student answer sheet included plus the correct sequence
