Objective: The objective of the game "Oops" is to get your teammates to guess a word without using certain pre-defined words or phrases associated with it - these are called "Oopsies"

Gameplay:

1. The clue giver selects a number from the selection board, revealing the word to be described as well as the "oopsies" associated with it.

2. The clue giver must then describe the word without using any of the "oopsies".

3. The guessers on the team try to guess the word based on the clues given. The guesser sits with their back turned to the slide, while the clue giver faces the slide.

4. The guesser can make as many guesses as they want within 1 minute.

5. If a teammate guesses the word correctly, the team earns a point. However, if the clue giver uses an "oopsie," they forfeit a point.

6. After the minute is up or the word is correctly guessed, play passes to the next team.

7. Play continues back and forth until all the slides have been used or a set number of rounds has been completed.

8. The team with the most number of points wins.

Looking for a fun Easter or Spring themed activity to do in your classroom? Check out this easy Egg Tangram set. This set contains 22 different tangram shapes for your students to build out of an egg. To use these tangrams, first print out either the color or black shapes (6, 4, or 1 per page) A cardstock would be great as they will be getting lots of handling. Laminating would be even better. Have the full eggs cut apart into the individual pieces. Give a set of pieces to your students and some of the tangram cards. The color ones are easier as students can match shapes and colors. The cards with black designs are harder as the students can only see the final shape. The arrow on the card points to the top when determining how the card will lay. I have also included 3 different sized tangram eggs for you to print out in both color and black/grey. The black tangram eggs have white lines on them so they are easy to see the pieces and cut out. Are you looking for a fun way to assess angles, lines, using a protractor to draw angles, and angle relationships? Then look no further! This fun math activity provides students with an opportunity to be an Urban Planner. They will use list of instructions to create their own Seasonal Town (Falling Leaves Town, Winter Wonderland Town, Spring Showers Town and Summer Sun Town). Each project has the same set of instructions but the street names are different to reflect the appropriate seasonal town name. This will allow you to pick a season or even create the four seasons in your classroom.

This project helps students demonstrate their knowledge in the following:

• parallel lines
• perpendicular lines
• transversal lines
• acute angles
• obtuse angles
• scalene triangle
• equilateral triangle
• isosceles triangle
• quadrilaterals
• z, c, and f patterns creating from transversal lines
• relationships between intersecting lines

There is also a rubric included for assessment purposes. I have used this project with my students and they have always enjoyed it and its quick to mark. Bonus! Students will likely need a couple of classes to complete this assessment and I would recommend having them complete a rough copy first to plan out their town.

Level Ups are a fun way for your students to practice or review 8th grade congruence and similarity using rigid and non-rigid transformations such as dilations, rotations, translations and reflections. Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity includes 5 differentiated tasks that increase in rigor.

The task cards begin with pre-requisite skills of identifying corresponding sides and angles between similar and congruent figures, then "level up" all the way to describing a sequence of multiple transformations that maps one figure onto another. Students must use these sequences to determine if two figures are congruent, similar, or neither.

Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review angle relationships, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.
