This is a 29-slide PowerPoint presentation which considers why Donald Trump won the 2024 US Presidential election.

It is suitable for all students 14+ in Politics or Citizenship classes.

Introduction: The presentation starts with an overview of the election results, highlighting the contentious nature of the election and the significant public and media attention it received. It also mentions Trump’s unexpected victory and the various factors influencing the electorate, including political, social, and economic factors.

It considers things like the handling of Key Issues and Policy Stances: Trump’s stances on key issues such as immigration, healthcare, and foreign policy resonated with voters. Teacher burnout begone!!! You AND your students will love this fun activity! Perfect as icebreakers for those in-between days during back to school when you don't have anything planned. This Four Corners Mini Debate Activity is a great no-prep activity that you can use any time of year for a fun, engaging activity that your students will LOVE!

Students will love moving around the room as you click through the 35 debatable topics - mostly controversial, but some are silly as well! This is perfect for middle school/high school, but teachers are encouraged to preview the statements and skip over any which you feel are too controversial for your student population. (I definitely stayed away from the most controversial topics).

►If you agree with the statement, move to the side of the room labeled “Agree” or “strongly agree.” If you disagree, move to the side of the room labeled, “Disagree” or “strongly disagree.” If you’re not sure how you feel about the topic yet, move to the side of the room labeled, “Undecided.” (I typically have "undecided" students stand in the middle and hang the other posters in the four corners of the room.)

***Students should be prepared to defend their position even if they’re undecided.

This lesson involves having students examine the impacts of the Industrial Era in the United States with a specific focus on child labor. It is recommended that students will have explored, to some degree, the Industrial era prior to this lesson. This resource will prompt students to analyze social activist Lewis Hines' photographs that depict the various jobs and working conditions that children experienced.
