This is a collection of ten single page posters of famous engineers. Each poster includes a picture of the inventor and a short description of the inventor's contributions written appropriately for the middle school level. When hung in the classroom these posters can be viewed by the students and referred to throughout the year as different topics arise when teaching the Next Generation Science Standards. My own students are absolutely in love with these bookmarks. They found it fun to complete the different bookmarks and couldn’t wait to get their hands on the Visualize bookmark. They literally begged me to do them again. As a teacher, I loved that I could be strategic with who received which bookmark. My students who were still learning English focused on acquiring new words, while my strong readers searched for figurative language. We’ve used them with novels during silent reading time, a short story from our ELA curriculum, and online news articles. I don’t think they realize just how much critical thinking and close reading they are doing. To them, they’re just having fun!
