Make learning about ancient Rome and the Romans with this no-prep digital escape game.  This game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.  Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work!  Students can play individually or in teams.

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

It starts out by showing the theories of how the world thinks everything was formed and then shows the Biblically based Creation using statements and pictures. Students will love learning about the history of Ancient Egypt by through this two-page Guided Reading summary of the main eras from 3000 BC through 700 BC. Many of the monumental buildings and structures such as the pyramids, mortuary temples, statues and obelisks came from this period.

Students will be able to answer questions as they read based on Guided Reading questions on the right. Colorful graphics keep the students engaged.

An additional page provides a timeline to help students visualize the timeframe. A list of Historical Terms is also included. Additionally there is a bonus page with a map of ancient Egypt so students can better visualize the places mentioned in the Guided Reading.

Help your students stay organized while completing their Codex Writing Project in unit 2 of CKLA (5th grade). I have my students complete their Maya, Aztec, and Inca organizer sheets right after we finish the chapters on each civilization when it is fresh in their minds. This helps my students get their thoughts down on paper and keeps them organized as to the expectations of the project.
