How do you throw, catch and hit a baseball?: This book provides an introduction to throwing, catching and hitting a baseball. Read this story with your students then go outside and have some fun!

Coins Interactive Notebook & PowerPoint Identify, Count & Compare Money!)

Are your students having difficulty learning and identifying coins and their values? Mine were, so I worked to develop this interactive notebook and PowerPoint slides & I am thrilled with their progress!
The materials in this packet are developed to use in conjunction with one another. Use the powerpoint to introduce coins, then use the notebook to provide practice with each concept. I have also included a parent letter and a 2 page assessment to provide you with valuable pre/post learning data.
Notebook - The notebook is in black and white. Students are encouraged to color pages to reinforce the colors of coins and make the book more "theirs". Most pages require students to make interactive activities with simple cuts & paste directions. Pages that require more directions (accordion counting, and pocket with flap), are towards the end of the book.
The notebook features practice in the following areas for identification and use of the penny, nickel, dime and quarter:
•Sorting – Color and sort coins into a jar
•Identification – Identify front, back, value, and information about the penny, nickel, dime and quarter.
•Counting by 1’s, 5’s, 10’s, 25’s: 2 activities! Students will identify how much & use coins to make requested amount
•Accordion counting support
•Comparison – Flippable pages show how much $1 is in penny, nickel, dime & quarter
•Making purchases with coins – Select the item to purchase and place in pocket.

Fall Adapted Books Bundle (Thanksgiving, pumpkin mini unit, #1-10 & fall)

Fall adapted books covering a pumpkin mini unit, counting #1-10, Fall, & Thanksgiving. This bundle includes 13 adapted books & extension activities (*extension activities only in the mini unit). A bit of prep is required, however they can be used year after year. I have always found adapted books with interactive pieces something that all my kiddos enjoy.
What is included:
Pumpkin Mini Unit
Book 1: Visiting a Pumpkin patch
Introduce vocabulary related to a pumpkin patch then read a story. The story needs some prep work prior, but can be used again and again & is adapted to support student learning.Students will read a story about visiting a pumpkin patch. Followup with a story map, ordering by size, sorting by size & clip cards
Book 2: How to carve a jack-o-lantern
Introduce vocabulary related to carving a jack-o-lantern then read the story. The story needs some prep work prior, but can be used again and again & is adapted to support student learning. Follow up by completing steps to carve a pumpkin, designing a pumpkin art & writing prompts.
Fall Counting #1-10
Book 1: Counting chipmunks: Students will count to 10 with some adorable chipmunks. They are all in festive fall clothing, or holding fall items.
Book 2: Counting fall leaves: Count the colorful fall leaves in this adapted book!
Book 3: Counting spiders - Spiders are hanging everywhere! Count them and find the corresponding numbers.
Book 4: School Monsters - Count the monsters on each page. How many do you see?
Fall Adapted Books
Book 1: Leaves are Falling
Students will listen to a short story about fall days & what we can expect during this season. An adorable bear ends our short story raking and playing in the colorful fall leaves. This story is colorful.
Book 2: Colorful Fall
Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on fall & 8 different colors. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.
Book 3: Fun in the Fall
A variety of activities are represented in this book. Students will continue developing high-frequency words with the repetitive text "In the fall, I like to." Activities include hiking, school, bake sale, football, picking apples, picking pumpkins, carving pumpkins & a bond fire with smores.
Book 4: Fall Clothing
This book has students selecting the correct items of clothing. This book is Each page has "I want to," followed by "so I need." For example, students will select sunny days, swimming, and gardening items.
