School Counseling Worksheets

Draw Your Own Emotion Faces

By SEN Resource Source

Variety of blank faces, both boys and girls, for children to draw on eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth to represent the emotion they are feeling.

Why do you need this?

These worksheets provide a creative outlet for children to express and explore their emotions visually. Drawing facial expressions allows children to externalize their feelings and communicate them in a tangible way.

Drawing their own facial expressions encourages children to reflect on their emotions and recognize how they are feeling. This process promotes self-awareness and emotional literacy as children learn to identify and label their emotions.

How and when might you use this?

These worksheets could be used in a variety of ways:

· Teachers can incorporate these worksheets into morning work to draw the facial expression that reflects how they are feeling at the start of the day. This activity sets a positive tone for the day and allows teachers to gauge students' emotional well-being.

· During transition throughout the day teachers can have children fill in these sheets as a check in with their emotions.

· During social-emotional lessons to teach students about different emotions and how to express them.

· Small group work where the children discuss and reflect on different emotions together.

· During counselling sessions to help students process and express their emotions.

· Teachers can integrate the worksheets into art activities to combine creative expression with emotional exploration

What’s included?

Resource includes 16 different face outlines with different hair styles.

Racism, Antiracism Craft, Self Portrait Skin Color Reflection Activity

By Class Plus

Help your students eliminate stereotypes, prejudices, and any form of racism. Through this activity, children will be encouraged to recognize that skin color is merely a physical characteristic. By imagining themselves with different skin colors and drawing pictures of themselves accordingly, they will understand that despite external differences, all individuals are unique and equally valuable.

This activity promotes the idea that there should be no room for injustice or discrimination based on skin color.

It is our responsibility to foster equality and promote antiracism from an early age.

This activity serves as an excellent addition to the Racism (Skin Color) Anti-Racism PowerPoint Presentation.

Instructions:

Ask your students to draw themselves in the first picture frame. In the subsequent frames, instruct them to draw themselves again, but with a different skin color or tone. Afterward, children should cut out each picture and staple them together to create a small book. Finally, encourage them to share their picture book and reflect on their emotions and thoughts while looking at themselves depicted in different skin colors or tones. They will realize that they are the same and their worth does not change.

This resource includes:

  • Page 1: How I Feel in a Different Race or Skin Color (Version 1)
  • Page 2: How I Feel in a Different Race or Skin Color (Version 2)
  • Page 3: How I Feel in a Different Race or Skin Color (Version 3)

Behavior Tracking Sheet for self-assessment

By Rebekah Poe Teaching

Students can complete this behavior tracker to show how well they were able to:

Follow directions

Participate

Have a positive attitude

Stay on task

Complete work

I added room for the teacher to write in how many (if any) prompts are acceptable to follow directions and stay on task. I also left room for a percentage of work that should be completed. I know often my special education students struggle to complete assignments due to lack of focus, etc. So I might put that one student needs to complete 70% of his assignment and then gradually increase it. There is space for that to be written in in the chart.

Students can choose a big smiley face, a small smiling face, and a frowning face to show how well they were able to maintain the directives. At the bottom there is room for teacher signature and comments. At the top, the student has space to write what assignment he or she is assessing.

Two sheets print per page to save paper.
