World religions can be a sensitive topic. When presenting the religions and discussing them do not show any bias’ toward one religion. Remain neutral so as not to lean to accept one religion over the other. You may have some parents who prefer their child to not be taught this within the classroom setting. If your district has a policy where parents can request their child not attend class during a sensitive topic, then send out a letter to all parents communicating that your class is starting a unit on world religions and have them sign it to opt-out or opt-in. Follow your district’s guidelines.

(3) The learner will identify the physical characteristics of a place such as landforms, bodies of water, natural resources, and weather.

(4) The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the patterns,

characteristics

(5) The learner will compare similarities and differences among people such as music, clothing, and food.

(6) The learner will describe and explain the effects of physical environmental

processes such as erosion, ocean currents, and earthquakes on Earth’s surface.

(7) The learner will describe a variety of regions such as landforms, climate, and vegetation regions.

(8) The learner will describe elements of culture, including language, religion,

beliefs and customs, institutions, and technologies.

• Center printouts (10) placed into folders, 1 country sheet per student (30 students = 30 Italy Sheets)

• 10 pocket folders (Place the student country sheets in the left pockets.)

• 3 Prong Folder Per Student (They will add their country pages to their notebook)

Studying **Asian Highway 1 **offers your students a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the cultural, economic, and geopolitical dynamics of the region. This major transportation route **spans over 14 countries **in Asia, connecting diverse cultures and economies along its path.

By studying** Asian Highway 1**, also called the Great Asian Highway, students can deepen their understanding of the relationships between countries in Asia, as well as the challenges and opportunities that arise from regional cooperation and integration. Additionally, studying this highway provides students with a real-world case study for analyzing the impact of infrastructure development on economic growth, trade relations, and cross-border connectivity. Students will begin the lesson with an optional video, and then move to a song analysis written about the Asian Highway. Students will work cooperatively to complete an interactive reading and dot-to-dot map activity. To wrap up the lesson students will travel the Asian Highway and write postcards from 6 different stops along the highway having learned of the the geography and culture. The class will participate in a most interesting facts group activity, followed up with exit cards. This will allow students to learn from each other.

By examining the decisions and actions of past and current leaders, we can learn valuable lessons about leadership through this semi-silent carousel activity.

This is an engaging President's Day or world government activity on world leaders for geography, civic, and other social studies classrooms. Students get involved in the learning process and will learn about 15 presidents & leaders (past & present) around the world to understand the place. This can be used as an introductory before or wrap-up lesson following a World Governments unit.
