Remain neutral so as not to lean to accept one religion over the other. You may have some parents who prefer their child to not be taught this within the classroom setting. If your district has a policy where parents can request their child not attend class during a sensitive topic, then send out a letter to all parents communicating that your class is starting a unit on world religions and have them sign it to opt-out or opt-in. How many states can you cover before time runs out? In this face-paced Geography game (like the Perfection board game), students must cover as many states with the correct state shape to rack up as many points as possible. The winner with the highest score wins. This game can also be played solo, where students must beat their score.

This major transportation route **spans over 14 countries **in Asia, connecting diverse cultures and economies along its path.

Asia, in particular, faces some of the most severe consequences of climate change, including rising sea levels, more frequent and intense natural disasters, and changes in agricultural patterns. By teaching about the climate change crisis in Asia, students will learn about the specific challenges that people in this region face. Students will read about 10 effects of climate change on Asia and will work together to find solutions.

Many countries in Asia are already experiencing the effects of rising sea levels, which are putting millions of people at risk of flooding, displacement, and human disease. By learning about these 10 human impacts on the environment and global climate change challenges, we can better understand the urgency of taking action to reduce our carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Students will work in cooperative groups rotating throughout the 10 carousel stations and will analyze the various solutions, deciding, which would be the best solution for each climate change issue. Groups will simply need to back up their decision.

Studying presidents and world leaders throughout the world is important because it allows us to understand the impact individuals can have on society and history. By examining the decisions and actions of past and current leaders, we can learn valuable lessons about leadership through this semi-silent carousel activity.

This is an engaging President's Day or world government activity on world leaders for geography, civic, and other social studies classrooms. Students get involved in the learning process and will learn about 15 presidents & leaders (past & present) around the world to understand the place. This can be used as an introductory before or wrap-up lesson following a World Governments unit. Students will recognize world leaders and understand how they played an important part in government and managing their countries — in both positive and negative ways.

(This lesson is easily modified for time restraints. Simply, choose fewer leaders to cover or remove one of the games. Can be modified for middle school and high school geography and history classrooms.)
