Students will then look at 4 picture cards. They will look at each card and write how each organism gets its energy. At the end of the product, students will fill out the exit slip that reviews the 1st link, consumers, and producers.

The classifying plants file folder activity allows students to label the parts of plants - cells, stem, roots, and leaves. Students will also match the following vocabulary words and their meanings with pictures: parallel veins and netted veins found in leaves, soft stems and woody stems, smooth leaf margins and jagged leaf margins found on leaves, waxy texture, smooth texture, and rough texture found on leaves, and taproots and fibrous roots. Students can do this independently, with support, or with a partner.
