Geography influences almost everything — yes, even the clothes we wear! Take a look at geography from a different and fun perspective: How does physical and cultural geography influence what clothes we wear, the materials that are used to make the clothes, and when we wear them throughout the day, etc? The learner will build awareness about the environmental and cultural impacts of the fashion industry.

The learner will understand the value of clothing and the global resources required to create garments.

The learner will work cooperatively to demonstrate their understanding of geography fashion by designing clothing for a specific country region.

In our global society, it is important for our students to understand how cultures are developed, and how they adapt to and adopt other practices and beliefs through diffusion.

What a fun way to study people throughout history. My students LOVE playing this game. They couldn't wait to play it. It encourages students to use their critical thinking skills while enjoying the learning process. This is very versatile and can be used over and over.

Tired of the same old basil workbook handouts? Whether you are studying historical people or current events, this will increase student learning and improve comprehension.

This is a great way to get your students involved in their own learning, giving them autonomy, and it is an activity that can be used across the curriculum. Students will have a great time analyzing characters, acting them out, and gaining points for identifying fact or fiction. This is not only great for social studies and geography, but for any lesson in which people or characters are being studied.

This is a great way to get students moving, collaborating and learning about Latin America Geography! This lesson/activity encourage students to develop higher-level thinking skills. The more they practice, the better their thinking strategies will become.

Students will complete a K-W-L Chart prior to the lesson while watching a suggested Intro video to peak their interest.

Students will work in teams and will rotate around (like a carousel) from one picture to another, spending 1-2 minutes at each and brainstorming the answers to the questions on each. Students will write their ideas on the chart paper at each station. Allow students add additional knowledge/terms to the chart if they wish. This will act as an extension of their learning.

Students will develop a one sentence summary of the main ideas and present it to the class. Students will be given blank maps to fill in the ideas presented as a listening/comprehension activity.
