By November 1st, Santa Claus is everywhere, but you probably didn’t know that Santa wasn’t always the fat man in the red suit. In fact, Santa didn't get his iconic, jolly look until Thomas Nast, a political cartoonist, drew him that way. Before the 1860s, Santa was represented as everything, from a jolly elf to a tall gaunt man. In central Europe, Santa was even depicted alongside the Krampus, a devilish figure who punishes bad children.
This enlightening video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oO0MzHu3Tuw) by the acclaimed History Channel, describes how Santa Claus took the form we now know due to the creativity of New Yorker cartoonist Thomas Nast. Watch the video with your students, with or without subtitles, and then do the activities that follow in this ebook. There are activities for all kinds of learners, especially the younger ones.
At the back of the book, you will find detailed Teacher's Notes with directions about the activities, as well as the Answer key.

Don’t you want your students to have the opportunity to see baby chickens and ducks hatch? It is hard to incubate eggs in the classroom. It is messy, it can be distracting for the kids, and once the birds hatch you have to figure out what to do with them! This resource allows your students to see every step of the incubation process without all the hassle. You will receive over 2 hours of videos, along with worksheet pages that include parts of an egg, egg writing prompts, and egg drawing sheets. Best of all, you will have ample footage of adorable baby birds!
This resource contains differentiated assignments that are designed to make this unit useful for teachers of all elementary grade levels. I would like you to know ahead of time that baby birds are a little icky looking when they hatch. Of course, they fluff up after a while, and you will get to see them once they do. However, the soggy, dinosaur looking baby birds could be a little frightening to very young students unless they are prepped. You could always skip the active hatching videos.

You will learn about his battle against segregation, a legislation in the United States that prohibited individuals with different skin tones from traveling, studying, or dining together. Some individuals felt it was normal to treat Black people badly, despite the fact that slavery had been abolished over a century earlier. In order to combat this inequality, Martin Luther King began using both words and nonviolent means, and he was successful!

There are various activities for your students to do before, while, and after watching the video. The lesson last 90 minutes and it is designed mostly for Elementary school students.
