Each lesson is designed to take approximately one class period to complete and includes discussion, a focus lesson, guided practice, and independent work. Each set of lessons includes a quiz to be administered after the lessons have been completed.

It is important for students to know about syllable types and HOW to break them apart. It is also important for students to know the definitions of suffixes and prefixes so that we can grow their vocabulary! These are handouts that I wish I had as a teacher to help me teach syllable types in reading and spelling!
