Constitution Taboo is a fun and engaging way for students to review for an end of unit test on ecosystems or to help prepare for any upcoming state standardized test. This product contains directions for playing Constitution Taboo and 15 Taboo cards. Topics covered include: Preamble, Article I, Bear Arms, Civil Trial, Bill of Rights, Amendment, and many more! This game can be played with the whole class or you may create smaller groups within your class to play against each other. • Divide the class into 6 groups. Each group will have two teams of 3. Place the bell/timer and cards in the center of the table.
• Choose one person from each team to be the first clue giver.  She/he sits opposite of their team and draws a card, keeping it hidden from their team and the opposing team.
• Give verbal clues to your teammates to help them guess the word printed at the top of the card. Do not use the words that are printed on the Taboo list on the card.  Each team will choose one card per turn and will have 30 seconds to gives clues and guess the correct word. 
• One person from the opposing team stands near the team giving the clues. He/she will make sure the clue giver doesn’t use the words listed on the card. If you hear the clue giver use the Taboo word they must move on to another word. 
• If after 30 seconds the team doesn’t guess the correct word then the opposite team will have a chance to guess the correct word and earn the point. 
• The team with the biggest number of words guessed wins.

THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

Directions: As an individual, use the list provided below to fill in the 24 empty squares on the chart provided. List items should be written in the small rectangle of the square. You may place the items in any box that you choose, but you can only use an item on the list once. When the chart is complete, all items on the list should be used. Once you have placed all of the items in the chart, the rest of the box should be filled in with the significance of that item in the American Revolution. This information can be found in your textbook from pages 147-195 as well as in any notes taken in class on this unit. Use the space wisely so you can include as much information as possible. Hint 1: The more information you have, the better it will be!

Who am I? Civics and U.S. Government Edition

With key terms such as: Congress, Vice President, President, Speaker of the House, John Locke, etc.

Students wonder who they are. They mingle about the classroom questioning classmates about their hidden identities.

1. Each student receives a secret identity taped to their back by the teacher. The identity may be an illustration, picture of a famous person, quotation, math problem or proof, vocabulary word, or a significant event.

2. Students must wander around the room asking yes/no questions of their classmates to determine their secret identity. Each student that is asked a question must sign the student’s identity page. (Optional: Teachers can provide a set of interview questions that students may ask.)

3. Teachers may limit the number of questions that can be asked or the time provided to discover one’s identity.

Globalization and Interdependence describes the relationships of mutual dependence between all elements and life forms (including humans) within and across cultures, environments, and social systems. What a fun way to learn how to read a time zone map! If you are doing this at the beginning of the year, it's probably football season, too. Your students will have fun playing football while learning how to read a time zone map. Your students won't feel like they are learning through all the fun! My students love this game!

This is football with a twist and modified for time limitations. Please always feel free to modify our lessons to meet the needs of your students and time restrictions. Enjoy!

OBJECTIVES:

(1) The learner will become familiar with a 24-hour (universal) clock.

(2) The learner will learn and use the meanings of a.m. and p.m. appropriately.

(3) The learner will review the Eastern and Western Hemispheres and will understand when traveling west, one subtracts time, and when traveling east, one adds time.

(3) The learner will become familiar with reading a time zone map.

(4) The learner will demonstrate an understanding of time zone changes

by calculating the time at different degrees of longitude.

MATERIALS:

• Game Pieces: Footballs, Game board, 16 Game Cards
• Some Form of Projector to Project the game onto the board,
  wall, or large-screen computer.
• Time Zone Game Instructions
• Exit Tickets
  Patience. This can be a difficult concept.

This fun, captivating and informative Easter geography lesson includes 36 cards focusing on Everything Easter from religion to historical and present-day traditions to fun facts about how Easter beliefs and traditions are related to various countries and cultures.
