This social story helps children understand the importance of going to the toilet as soon as they feel the need and provides guidance on what to do when they are in the bathroom.

This social story is ideal for supporting children who may hesitate to use the toilet or are still learning proper bathroom habits. Perfect for use at home or in school settings by parents, teachers, and caregivers.

What is included?

As well as a 14 page social story there is also a shorted adapted book version of the story with movable pictures to attach to each page.

Why do you need this?

The point of a social story is to use a patient and reassuring tone to teach children about social situations in a way that can be easily understood. Social stories can be useful for any child who is struggling to understand a situation or concept or needs help to understand a social skill or social cue, expectations, perspectives, common responses or is troubled about an upcoming event but social stories are particularly useful for children on the autistic spectrum for whom social cues can be challenging and who often suffer anxiety if they do not know what to expect from a situation.

How and when might you use this?

· To implement a social story, you should first ensure that you have eliminated distractions; that it is just you and the child sitting together focussed on the story.

· Initially you should read the story through twice with the child but it is then vital to revisit it regularly.

· Try to find a way to incorporate the story into the child's daily schedule.

· If the story is relating to a particular inappropriate behavior, it is useful to read the story when this behavior occurs, you do not however want the story to be seen as any kind of punishment.

· Regularly praise your child and keep it a positive experience.

These books should be used over and over to reinforce the point so I would suggest either putting the pages into a display book or laminating and binding them.

What Students Will Be Doing:

This is a 3-part assignment that incorporates both individual and group assignments. Groups of students (4-6) are responsible for writing an individual monologue, a group script and a final monologue reflection. Students will take on the role of a character from a well known fairy tale. In the individual monologue, students will get to explore the perspective of their character and how the new dilemma a character is faced with should be solved. The group will then figure out a solution to the dilemma and will write a short script to show their resolution. After the group has resolved the dilemma, each character will have an opportunity to reflect on how their character feels about the outcome. Don't worry I've included some rubrics that you can use for each section too and some worksheets to help guide student thinking.

This is a play script for A Christmas Carol, however it is a modern remake that is based in a school. The play script tells the story of a mean, old headmaster, Ebenezer Loops, who runs a dark and miserable school. The teachers are under-paid and over-worked, and the students are not allowed to smile or have fun.

It is Christmas eve and his best worker, Bob Bamboo asks for the day off to spend time with his family, and sick child – Petite Pat. Loops almost refuses but decides to just dock his pay for the day. Then, that evening he gets a visit from the previous headmaster – another miserable person called Mr Frown.

Mr Frown tells him he needs to change his ways or end up with the same fate as him; he tells him how he will be visited by three ghosts that night. The ghosts visit and show Loops various things that upset him enough to change his ways.

After the visits of the ghosts Loops wakes up on Christmas day a changed man and tries to put right all the wrongs he has caused over the previous decades!

This reader's theater teaches SO MUCH about the Rosary! There is an 8-page skit separated into scenes, so if it's too long for one class period, you can easily select the parts that are important to your lessons today.

This Readers Theater and skit takes students on a historical journey through the Mysteries of the Rosary and its key moments, with 8 scenes detailing pivotal events in the development of the Rosary devotion. From Early Prayer Traditions to Pope John Paul II and the addition of the Luminous Mysteries, students will learn about the role of the Rosary and Our Lady of the Rosary in Christian history.

She plans to present this gift to her two children as she flies home after the Thanksgiving holiday. After unexpectedly waiting in the checkout line longer than she anticipates, she realizes that she missed her flight home – and that’s when the story begins take on a b-plot of its own. Shannon, along with other supporting coworkers, acquaintances, and a South California beach bum, are forced to make choices that will directly impact the holiday shopping season, and more importantly, time spent with their families. Join us in a hip-hop, non-stop adventure through the post- Thanksgiving merchandise frenzy in ”Black Flyday” The musical is 25 minutes in duration and features 6 movements in various musical genres. This Rules I Follow at School social story can be used with students who are learning the rules and routines at school. It includes images that are appropriate for students of all ages.

Social stories are a tool used by parents and educators that can help kids, teens, and adults with Autism and other Developmental Disorders understand what will be coming up in their day, reduce anxiety, and learn rules and social cues.

To use this social story, read through the story together each day and reinforce using the included visuals. This story can be used as a whole class lesson, or with individual students who need some additional support.
