High School Critical Thinking Posters

Cartoon scientists are bound to make you laugh! These 18 science posters for the classroom have 18 scientists with inspirational quotes.

I personally, hand these out to groups of students and have them discuss the meanings of the quotes. Then I would have one cut out the scientist and speech bubble and hang them in my science lab!

This is a great activity to do at the beginning of the school year!

What did Jesus look like? Discussing the race and ethnicity of Jesus can be a difficult topic, but this FREE poster will get kids talking about their personal image of Jesus. It shows various possible Jesus images created using Bitmoji.

This is a great accompaniment to the PowerPoint that will open up a conversation with your class and help them see that Jesus could have looked very different from the traditional image.

This product was created for students and teachers who are working on growth mindset in their classroom. Please note that if your students are not familiar with fixed mindset and growth mindset, they will need some introductory information prior to using these journal prompts. There are 20 different journal prompts as well as a page for teacher tips, and optional back pages (blank lines if you choose to copy front-to-back for students to have extra space to write.

You can use this resource in a number of ways.

• Display each quote in the classroom as time allows and discuss one character trait quote at a time.
• Complete the quotes activities during class, with partners or groups, or send it home for homework.
• Choose your four favorite character quotes and create a Character Traits Quote of the Week activity.
• Display all the quotes and ask students to vote on the quotes they’d like to explore. Use the corresponding worksheets.

In most cases, students can complete the quotes worksheets without any additional resources. Periodically, the students will be asked to discuss the author of the quote (if it is applicable). In these cases, allow students to use reference materials (a computer, for example).

Please note that the top two boxes on each printable ask the students to reflect on the quote and apply it to their own lives. The bottom boxes on each printable are unique questions based on the quote given. These questions are designed to stir thinking and stimulate meaningful discussions.

You can use this character traits quotes product in conjunction with any school wide Character Education or Character Traits curriculum (of course, feel free to mix around the months or combine lessons as you see fit).
