9th Grade Interactive Notebooks

This math notebook is full of guided notes for all 8th grade math standards. It's a great way to introduce new concepts, or review for state testing. These notebook pages include step-by-step instructions, key vocabulary words, examples, and practice opportunities. A math notebook is a valuable resource for students to use both at home and at school. These 8th grade math notes can be used during direct instruction, guided practice, or to independently review a topic. They allow for engagement and interaction during instruction, without having to copy too much down.

Included are all 8th grade Common Core standards as well as a few review concepts I have found beneficial for students. A teacher's guide is also included with a full answer key. The notes come in two sizes - full size pages to add in binders and half sheet pages to put in composition or spiral notebooks. Please note, these are in PDF format and are not editable.

This lesson is easy enough for 5th graders to understand yet works well with students up to grade 12. Modifications can be made as needed.

This Africa book study unit is written based on the story of the Lost Boys in the book: A Long Walk to Water. This is a great way to study Sudan and its struggles throughout the years. It teaches how the goodwill of one person can have a domino effect and change the lives of many while exploring the geographical aspects, environmental issues, political issues, causes of the Sudan wars, resources, and cultures of Sudan. Team up with the language arts teacher and blend geography and language arts.

OBJECTIVES

• The learner will describe how unclean water impacts the Sudanese.
• The learner will explore the cause and effects of the Second Sudanese War and its outcomes.

Smash Doodles are a great way to assess Spanish reading while encouraging creativity. I love using this at the end of the year to demonstrate that a student can read independently and show what they know. Plus, it's easy to grade!

The set up for these Smash Doodles (along with the rubric) make it easy to grade.

So, what is it?

A Smash Doodle is a way to show what students have learned from the chapter or reading assigned. It involves creativity, color, the most important vocabulary, students' thoughts and questions.

Who is it for?

This assignment works for any level of Spanish students. Any reading assignment can work with Smash Doodles. It can be used with novels meant for early language acquirers, short stories, poetry, etc. This assignment is automatically differentiated as students will choose the vocabulary that they need and not simply a list dictated by the teacher.

What does the assignment include?

This particular Smash Doodle assignment includes:

1. The title and chapter of the book
2. 5 vocabulary words in Spanish with the English translation and a hand-drawn picture in color.
3. 3 thoughts about the chapter in Spanish
4. 3 quotes from the book, in Spanish
5. 3 questions in Spanish . It could be things you are curious about or questions for characters
6. A main image that represents the chapter.

Print at 80% and include in your interactive journals.

Graphic organizers can be helpful in being visual aids when students are writing.

• Helps students focus on their thoughts for planning, decision-making, and writing an essay

• Helps students see the connections, patterns, and relationships between facts, concepts, and ideas 

• Organizers provide a visual depiction for writers by showing them where each piece of the essay is placed within an essay

Bubble maps are used to display two different main ideas, their similarities, and their differences.

I hope your students/children enjoy this bubble map by understanding the importance of why a graphic organizer is needed, as well as understanding the variables of a bubble map.

These fully editable, general Engineering Notebook pages allow students to keep their notebooks on the computer using either Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides. Teachers digitally send students the page(s) they need for the lesson via Google Drive (or other file sharing) or through a LMS such as Google Classroom or Edmodo. This DAILY WRITING ANALYSIS LESSON uses powerful quotations to develop students' analytical skills. 20 famous quotes are provided in this Powerpoint for a month of daily pondering and analyzing. They are skillfully guided by pre-designed tempates to create cohesive written response.
