Introduce plays from William Shakespeare by studying the great adaptions from Charles Lamb and Mary Lamb with their Tales From Shakespeare. These are engaging worksheets geared to having your students interact more with the story line and vocabulary used in The Tempest.

Tales From Shakespeare are great adaptions of William Shakespeare's play that allow student to be introduced to the story line in a way they can understand while not being too simplistic. Worksheets, crossword, word search, chapter notes are bundled together based on the story. Answer sheets are provided where necessary.

Also included are fill in the blanks notes, a worksheet with fill in the blanks, multiple choice, matching, and guess the map. Answer sheet is included. Spooky Halloween Haunted House Fill In The Blank Descriptive Writing

This spooky writing is low prep and perfect for emerging writers and for reluctant writers!

Students will make the haunted house listing their own by choosing the appropriate adjective, name, verb or other part of speech. This makes it approachable for everyone!

For added flair, students can type up their finished product and then make a haunted house to color!

This assessment requires students to choose one of three provided writing prompts and write a 5 paragraph essay (or 4 paragraph essay for differentiation) based on their chosen prompt. They must include an introductory paragraph, 2 or 3 body paragraphs (depending on what the teacher assigns), 2 pieces of supporting evidence per paragraph with proper MLA citations and a brief conclusion paragraph. There is an outline included for them to follow as well as a 20 point rubric for easy grading.

This can be done entirely as an in class essay or the prompts can be given to the students before hand so they can prepare their evidence on a notecard to bring to class. This alternative tends to streamline the writing process if doing it in class; although I generally do not allow them to bring in any other written materials.

Where do we use school mathematics in real life?

The following complete guide sets out ALL the mathematics we do in middle and early high school used in the RSA Public Key Cryptosystem.

RSA Encryption is one of the most modern and powerful methods of encryption and is used by computer scientists, big banks and websites who need to secure data.

Do not be surprised, the list is complete and no other, more complicated mathematics is ever used in RSA Encryption.
Topics done in grade school: Factors, Multiples, Products, Times Tables, Division, Remainders, Integers, Prime Numbers, Composite Numbers, Exponents, Rules for Divisibility etc.

Topics not specifically done in grade school but for which 7th-10th grade students possess ALL the mathematics knowledge: Modular Arithmetic, Successive Squaring, The Euclidean Algorithm, The Euler Phi Function, Euler's Formula, The Extended Euclidean Algorithm

It is important that students know (and that teachers always remind them) when they are busy with these topics, that they are learning fundamental mathematics needed to encrypt data and secret messages.

Many districts require teachers to post the learning goals for each lesson in the classroom. While this may seem like an unnecessary, extra step at first, it is truly beneficial to the students. I created this packet/spreadsheet to make goal posting simple, effective, and consistent. This can be printed out sheet by sheet and placed into their INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS, it can be distributed through a Google Sheet, or into a data folder. This is completely up to you. One way- Student directions: It is based on the work we have done thus far, please put an x in the box that best describes your knowledge of the "I can" statement. Before the unit please use a blue highlighter & before the test please revisit and use a pink highlighter. Another way- Instructions: Step By Step 1. Find the unit we are in right now. 2. Based on the work we have done thus far, please put an x in the box that best describes your knowledge of the "I can" statement. 3. Be sure to revisit this before your test to ensure that You've Got This Down! This is what the Civics team is creating your test off of. If you can move yourself to the final column of "Yes, I can."
