Ten Transformational Sessions:

  1. Welcome and Introduction to Anger Management: We set the stage, establishing a safe and supportive environment for students.
  2. Recognizing Physical and Emotional Responses: Understanding the physical and emotional manifestations of anger is a crucial step in managing it effectively.
  3. Triggers and Warning Signs: Identifying personal triggers and recognizing early warning signs is key to proactive anger management.
  4. Locus of Control: We explore the concept of control and guide students toward empowering themselves to manage their anger.
  5. Cognitive Triangle (Thoughts-Feelings-Behaviors): Understanding the interplay of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors enables students to take control of their emotional responses.
  6. Conflict Resolution (I-Statements): We equip students with practical conflict resolution techniques and communication skills to navigate challenging situations.
  7. Forgiveness and Apologies: Exploring the power of forgiveness and the art of sincere apologies in repairing relationships.
  8. Stress Management: Teens learn valuable stress-reduction strategies, which are instrumental in anger management.
  9. Building Empathy and Understanding: Fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of others to improve relationships and reduce anger triggers.
  10. Termination and Review: A reflective session to consolidate learning and set goals for the future.

SESSION OVERVIEW

This grief and loss curriculum comprises of EIGHT SESSIONS which include:

  1. Welcome and Introduction: In the opening session, students are introduced to the group, fostering trust and setting expectations. Group-building exercises and activities are employed to establish a supportive environment.
  2. Exploring Grief: This session delves into the concept of grief and its various manifestations. Through a grief collage reflection, students visually express and share their individual experiences, promoting understanding and empathy.
  3. Letter to my Loved One: Participants will have the opportunity to express their emotions and thoughts through letter writing which allows them to process their feelings and find a personalized way to remember and honor the person they have lost.
  4. Exploring Emotions: The focus shifts to identifying and managing emotions associated with grief. Engaging in emotion charades and discussion circles, students enhance their emotional literacy and communication skills.
  5. Caring for Yourself: Emphasizing the importance of self-care in the grieving process, this session equips students with strategies for emotional well-being. Activities include creating a self-care toolbox and practicing mindfulness exercises.
  6. My Grief Suitcase: Students examine their personal coping strategies and resilience, represented symbolically in a "Grief Suitcase." This reflective session promotes self-awareness and understanding of individual coping mechanisms.
  7. My Memory Jar: Crafting a Memory Jar becomes a poignant activity to honor positive memories and celebrate the lives of loved ones. Personal reflections are incorporated into this creative and meaningful exercise.
  8. Termination and Review: The concluding session focuses on group reflection, expressing gratitude, and discussing future support. Students engage in activities that encourage thoughtful reflection on the group journey, fostering a sense of closure and individual goal-setting.

Therapeutic Intervention for Teenagers to explore situations and decisions from a number of different perspectives. This resource encourages students to move outside their default thinking style and helps them self-reflect and move towards a more rounded and robust viewpoint. This is a great resource for teenagers with anger management, conflict resolution, limited personal insight and emotional regulation difficulties. Great to use in an individual, small or large group setting. This resource is versitile and can be utilised in many ways.

Looking at things from a different perspective are a vital life skill. This resource includes 7 different glasses which encourages the student to explore a situation or problem from each of these lens. These include looking at a situation from various lenses including emotional, intuitive, creative, pessimistic, reactive, problem solving and analytic.

The seven types of glasses include: Optimistic Glasses, Pessimistic Glasses, Problem Solving Glasses, Reactive Glasses, Reactive Glasses, Analytic Glasses, Flying High Glasses and Growth Mindset Glasses.

This resource will encourage students to look at the positives and negatives of each of the different perspectives.

NOTE: This resource does not include hypothetical situations or decisions as it is encouraged to use day to day situations that arise organically to make the reflective practice more important and powerful.
