Bundle of 101 Close Reading Activities | Digital & Print | 3rd & 4th Grade

101 Google Forms close reading passages, or informational texts, with comprehension and grammar questions followed by extension tasks. The Google Forms activities are ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in 3rd grade or 4th grade. The activities also come in PDF format for printing.

Time allowance for each activity:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity).

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Time allowance to complete each activity:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)

After, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to all of the U.S Presidents throughout history. Great for class work, distance learning and home schooling. There are 46 posters or cards of all of the U.S Presidents, starting with the very first, George Washington, up until present day president, Joe Biden.

Finally, there is a 'top trumps' style supercards card game that enables your students to learn about all of the American presidents. Your class will love the trading cards which they can play with in an interactive and engaging way!
