French Pink Shirt Day Activity Pack

This quick and easy resource is for use near the end of the month of February to recognize Pink Shirt Day. The story behind this day is one that has a positive influence on students as they understand that it is NOT OK to bully EVER.

I hope you are able to use this resource in your class by quickly making copies and allowing students to use their creativity and unique perspectives to colour and decorate how they see fit.

Personally, I made copies onto pink printer paper in poster size 200% to make two big posters with the title 'Jour du chandail rose' and students have placed their T-shirts around the poster. Older students will also make theirs with a writing piece to explain their views on Pink Shirt Day in French.

How to use this resource:

1. Copy a set for students. I like to copy multiple sets (i.e. 3 sets of 8 to insure that students sitting with one another do not have the same page next to them. I find this allows for more creative development as they do not copy their neighbour).

2. Let students colour and create and cut the shape of the T-shirt out

3. Display on a bulletin board or on the wall of your school

4. Use writing sheets to create slogans, writing prompts, and a quick paragraph about why bullying is not OK

Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.

Here are 29 different Christmas/Holiday/Winter themed Tangram puzzles for you to cut out and use in your classroom! Each tangram is on a 3.7" x 4.9" card and there are 4 cards per page. The color tangrams show the individual shapes while the black tangrams only show the whole figure as a sold color. The colored tangrams are filled in with green, red, white, blue and grey colors. This packet contains SIX lessons and activities to teach about the Confiteor Prayer from the Catholic Mass ⛪ Liturgy. · Page 4: Full Prayer--This can be used as an answer key, and also as a puzzle. It can be cut into strips or smaller pieces for students to put together while thinking through the prayer.

· Pages 5-6: Understanding the prayer --this worksheet requires students to write the meaning of each line of the prayer. This will help students slow down and think about the meaning behind the words.

· Page 7: Fill-in-the-blanks--Students can scaffold their practice with the prayer by filling in the blanks on this worksheet.

· Page 8-13: Prayer Mazes --Students follow the words of the prayer through the puzzle. This works well laminated and placed in a station for students to recite the prayer repeatedly while traveling through the maze. There are two levels for the maze so it is easy to differentiate. There are also 2 versions of answer keys for the puzzles so students can work at their own challenge level.

· Pages 14-15: Handwriting--Students can trace the prayer to practice handwriting and spelling. This is available in print or cursive.

· Pages 16-18: Vocabulary--There are three ability levels for the vocabulary sheets. Students can fill out the blank sheet with a definition, example, and non-example. Or, students can receive a worksheet that is partially filled out or completely filled out. _______________________________
