The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.

Learn how Martin Luther King Jr. transformed American culture forever by watching this incredibly educational Kids Academy film about this remarkable guy. You will learn about his battle against segregation, a legislation in the United States that prohibited individuals with different skin tones from traveling, studying, or dining together. Some individuals felt it was normal to treat Black people badly, despite the fact that slavery had been abolished over a century earlier. My students LOVE interactive storyboards! This activity would be a perfect way to finish up your study over Martin Luther King, Jr. It includes open-ended questions, vocabulary and a timeline to list five important events in MLK's lifetime. Children are very creative and can use the artwork and their own imaginations to embellish and make it their own. I use file folders as the base but large manila or construction paper can be used as well. I've included pictures to give you an idea of how to arrange it.
