Back to School Cootie Catchers - Fortune Tellers - Ice Breaker activity

By Love Learning Languages - French Resources

Using cootie catchers (fortune tellers) to get students speaking to each other and to help them get to know their classmates better is a great idea at any time of the year. Your students already love them, and cootie catchers are the perfect ice breaker activity for back to school. This resource is in English and is suitable for any teacher who wants his or her students to interact and learn fun facts about each other.

This file includes ten different ice breaker cootie catchers. The file also contains 2 blank templates for making your own cootie catchers (a perfect activity for test review questions). Each version includes 8 fun questions for a total of 80 getting to know you questions. Some of the questions are really silly while others demand more reflection.

Sample questions:

What is your favorite kind of candy?

Would you prefer to eat pizza or ice cream?

Have you ever stuck a booger under your desk?

If you could be any animal, which one would you be?

What is your favorite game to play at recess?

Do you like licorice?

Have you ever eaten raw fish?

What is the worst meal served at the school cafeteria?

Have you ever put gum that has already been chewed in your mouth?
