Spanish Present Subjunctive with Impersonal Expressions Mini Unit + Activities

What’s the best way to teach the present subjunctive in Spanish?  Try teaching it with impersonal expressions!  This digital or printable bundle of vocab, grammar notes and activities simplifies teaching students to use the present subjunctive mood.  This mini-unit will help teach students to use the present subjunctive to give advice or react to what others say by using impersonal expressions like “It’s necessary, it’s important, it’s bad, it’s a shame”, etc.

How can I use this product?

  • This resource is has enough activities to make a mini-unit
  • Start by giving students the vocab list with included quizlet to familiarize themselves with the impersonal expressions
  • Next, begin the grammar notes.  The notes are broken up into sections, and there are student practice activities to along with each section
  • After students have learned how to conjugate all the different kinds of subjunctive verbs, they learn how to construct a complete sentence
  • Then, they practice multiple skills, like listening and writing together
  • There are 2 formative assessments
  • There are activities that have students practice paragraph length writing to prepare for an interim or summative assessment
