Here's a quick sorting activity using Google Slides for students who need to practice differentiating between the homophones 'there', 'their', and 'they're'. There are three slides with a total of 42 sentences that students sort based on whether the homophones are used correctly or not. You can edit the sentences as needed, adding more or removing some to match the needs of your students. Because the sentences are editable, you could also have the students correct the sentences where the homophone is used incorrectly.

Use this file way you would any other Slides file:

Looking for a way to help your students practice the skill of decoding? With blending lines, you can do just that. This quick no-prep digital or paper activity can have your students practicing decoding (sounding out) words in a snap. These blending lines are phonics focused and are great for whole-group or small-group learning. I’ve based these lists on Wiley Blevins’s suggestions for blending lines.

Or maybe you need interactive language arts task cards to use for distance learning ELAR centers? Click and go morning work? Or just a quick assessment? Whatever the need, this 20-day set of digital daily language mixed-skill task cards will do the trick! That’s 4 full weeks. These daily language practice cards work with PowerPoint for Microsoft Teams and Google Slides for Google Classroom. The cards have interactive pieces that students can click and drag to boost student engagement.

These daily language practice activities are aligned to 4th grade standards, but work great for remediation for struggling older students, reteaching from the summer or COVID-19 slide, challenging gifted younger students, or differentiation within grade level. Skills include capitalization, punctuation, spelling, plural nouns with spelling rule changes, verb tenses, compound words, contractions, abbreviations, analogy, figurative language, multiple-meaning words, homophones, synonyms and antonyms, context clues, parts of speech, sentence types, and alphabetical order. Answer keys are also included in the paid resources.

To Use as a Digital ELAR Center

This is an interactive online and customizable activity, using Google Slides, to practice identifying common nouns and proper nouns and capitalizing proper nouns correctly. This Slides file consists of 20 slides with a ready made activity about common nouns and proper nouns on each of the first 16 no-prep slides, and 4 blank templates for you to customize with sentences / lists of nouns for your students for additional practice. Slide 2 can also be customized with a list of nouns & proper nouns of your choice. Use the no-prep slides to start with, then customize the others for review or extra practice.

You can share a file with students in all the usual ways that you can share Google files. You can use this file is while working remotely with students or give each student their own copy of the file (through Google Classroom). You could also project this file on an interactive whiteboard in the classroom.

Please note that I have two similar activities in my store: a Canva version, that is identical in content, and another Slides file that has the more American vocabulary replaced with British vocabulary.
