This core French FSL resource helps to review basic vocabulary related to describing people and their physical features. There are 3 culturally diverse photograph grids for the game “Guess who?” There are “Wanted” poster templates and a “guess the celebrity” mystery game. It is a great way to get students talking and writing.

This is a resource that you can also share in the Google classroom. This resource can be used for whole class discussion or partner activities. Students get an opportunity to practice the vocabulary within various games and activities. These activities could also be set up into station work.

This is a back to school French Second Language FSL art resource to help build a class community with students. Get to know your students as they write about themselves with this low prep activity. This sports adventure themed French (FSL) resource was designed to encourage speaking and writing. There are engaging templates included which focus on planning a spring/summer adventure. This Valentine’s Day FSL French reading and writing resource has no prep activities for February. This resource focuses on Valentine’s day themes, but it could be used any day you need a print and go lesson. This resource could be used by a French speaking substitute anytime of year.

There are 2 Nonfiction texts (“The Legend of Saint-Valentine” and  “Love Locks- The Cities do not love them”) with comprehension questions (answer key included). Students may also watch the short film  « La boîte ». There are questions for class discussion or for students to respond independently in writing. 

Students may also become music critics as they listen to a selection of songs curated for February. A template is included to help students share their opinion on the songs.

This cake activity can be done over several classes, by starting your FSL class off each day with a “Question du jour”. Students write down their answers each day to add to their final written project.

This FSL (French as a second language) weather themed "question du jour" or "bell ringer" resource helps to encourage conversation while expanding vocabulary. There are also "quatre coins" and "Levez-vous si" slides to combine language learning and movement. Starting your French class each day with a daily question is a great way to get students talking, and it establishes a low stress routine.

Vocabulary:

Focus is on present tense verbs but others are used too (Je préfère, Je préférerais, Je n'ai jamais)

This basic French resource (FSL) helps to encourage conversation while expanding core vocabulary (Préférences de vacances). There are writing and project ideas included which focus on vacation preferences (vacation activities and travel options). Students get an opportunity to practice the new vocabulary both orally and written with this low prep resource. It can be used for whole class discussion, partner activities or a substitute plan.
