Triple digit Addition with Regrouping Activity #2

This paperless math center includes 30 interactive Slides and a  Self-Grading Google Form for students to practice adding 3 digit numbers up to 1,000 with regrouping both place values. 

The activity includes 20 slides with movable Base 10 Blocks for students to practice regrouping using a place value strategy as well as 10 slides with standard algorithm practice problems. The resource includes a TIME SAVING Self-Grading Google Form to provide students with quick feedback and effortlessly track student progress on this skill.  

The interactive slides allow students to drag moveable base-10 blocks into the hundreds, tens, and ones place to model the addition problem. Students can practice regrouping 10 ones for 1 ten and 10 tens for 1 hundred using the base-10 blocks. This is a great visual hands-on activity to help students conceptually understand how to regroup numbers so they can be successful with the standard algorithm. Every slide gives students the opportunity to practice the problem using base-10 blocks and the standard algorithm.

This resource can be used in Google Classroom for math centers, independent practice, or distance learning. Need some online manipulatives for addition and subtraction problems? This Google Slides file is a 20-frame template (two 10 frames on each page) that you will add your own addition and subtraction problems to. Each of the twenty "double ten frame" template slides has 2 different counters and a stack of 20 of each counter ready to drag. There are many ways to use this file! You could use it on an interactive whiteboard, or you could share the file with students. They can each have their own copy, or the activity can be collaborative if they are given shared access to the file. You, or your students, drag the pre-made counters to the frames to the grid to help them visualize the numbers they are working with. You might choose to add specific problems ahead of time for students to work on, or you could create them on the fly as you work with students in a group while projecting the file on a whiteboard. Students like the variety of images used for the counters and teachers like not finding counters all over their classroom floor!

This an outline/example of a small mini lesson used for adding with regrouping. It uses the Pear Deck add-on on Google Drive.

Pear Deck is an add-on for Google Slides that allows you to create interactive Google Slides for you and your students to use. I use them for a mini lesson whenever I am teaching/review content in math. It allows you to create slides that have different ways of interacting with them. You can monitor what the students are doing from the teach dashboard, lock their screens to keep it from being a distraction, and save the work that the students do on the Pear Deck to use it for reflection or even formative assessments.

In the slide it includes adding with the "home" method. This is just what I have called adding with base 10 blocks for my students.

This self checking, NO PREP math activity is perfect for your students! This product contains a mystery maze with 20 1 step addition and subtraction problems and a student "show your work" page. Let your sixth graders practice while having fun with this engaging, no-prep, digital and printable prime factorization activity Google Slides. I used it as a sub-plan in seventh grade and the kids liked it.

There are 30 slides with composite numbers and students drag and drop number tiles to complete a factor tree. Then, they type the corresponding expression in a text box.
