Directions

  • Share a forced of the Google Slides with students.

  • Students edit each box and type in an activity or experience they had over the summer. For example, "Went to the beach," "Read a book," or "Had a barbecue."

  • Students continue until all text boxes are filled with different activities or experiences they had over the summer.

  • Last, students find classmates who share the same activities or experiences listed on their Bingo card and write their names on the line.

  • Share expectations of respectful debating

  • Read the debate prompt out loud
  • Students choose a side and think of at least one reason why they chose that side

In this form students will use a real-world example of a monthly budget and saving goal. Students will use their learned knowledge of incomes and expenses to identify these items in the monthly budget. Students will practice identifying and calculating the amount of money needed for the desired expense and calculating how much money will need to be saved each month in order to attain the expense. Students will also examine the given budget to calculate the individual total income, expenses, money saved, and identify additional ways for individuals to save.
