Celebrate St. Andrew's Day with these low prep activities. Great as a lesson starter, ideal for preteaching vocabulary. Suitable for primary schools and ESL / EFL classes.

How to use Trimino puzzle:

Simply print out and cut up the puzzle pieces and let your pupils put them back together. Students need to match the word with the correct picture. The resultant shape is that of a star.

Print out a few puzzles and turn it into a competition. Whoever resolves the puzzle first, wins. It can be also played in teams.

Students practice their listening and counting skills in this activity. They click on the cash register to hear how much money they "owe", and then put the appropriate number of cents on the counter next to the register and click submit to check their answer.

Good for English language learners who need extra practice listening and recognizing numbers 1 through 10, or any students who need practice working on counting money to reach a specific total. The amounts range from 1 cent to 10 cents, and the cards will be presented in a different order every time the game is played.

I have other counting and money-related decks in my store:

This winter themed basic ESL resource is a low prep activity to encourage speaking and writing. There are engaging templates included which focus on planning an outdoor winter day. Students can build a snowman, pick an outdoor activity, and stop at a café to customize their own hot chocolate.

Students respond orally to each question, as they add on to their plan. This print and go resource takes the stress out of your week as you review vocabulary. Students enjoy being creative as they add artwork and English sentences to their hot chocolate template.

- Teacher overview with slides to guide the mini projects

-Two writing project ideas including  a Hot Chocolate mug and Snowman Bio

Basic Vocabulary:

List of outdoor winter activities or sports

Limited list choices for food at a café - build your hot chocolate

List of winter clothes and sports equipment

Design a snowman (3 template options)

Helpful with template:

Scissors, glue, tape, colored pencils, and printed templates (cardstock works best)

This activity can be done over several classes, by starting your ESL class off each day with a “Question of the day”. Students write down their answers each day to add to their final written project.
