This is a collection of activities that can be done while watching the movie The Lorax. Each activity focuses on a different skill for ELA. These include Story Elements, Characters, Sequence of Events, Main Idea and Theme, and Point of View and Attitude.

This resource includes four graphic organizers (one for each individual and the boys collectively) where students specify the poor decisions these boys make and what consequences these poor decisions lead to, and then suggest "wiser" decisions the boys could have made instead.

Detailed ANSWER KEYS are included for ALL graphic organizers, including chapter and page numbers to allow easy access to information, important events, and talking points.

Since there is a graphic organizer for each individual Sampson, Rameck, and George, and one for the boys together, you can distribute these graphic organizers to set a purpose for reading. Students can follow the individuals' journeys throughout the book!

In We Beat The Street, Sampson, Rameck, and George live in dangerous and underprivileged neighborhoods in Newark, New Jersey. The three boys grow up surrounded by violence, drugs, and gang activity. All three of the authors face both positive and negative Peer Pressure that ultimately impact the choices they make as well as their future lives.

This resource is a differentiated writing packet related to Peer Pressure. Students will write about the positive and negative influences of Peer Pressure that the three boys experience. Students can decide which author to write about. Graphic organizers are included to assist students in developing their essays. They must also cite specific evidence from the text to support their analysis.

Two NOVEL STUDIES for WISHTREE and WILLODEEN based on the books by Katherine Applegate.

These are engaging and comprehensive units that allow your students to respond to the story by using a wide range of reading comprehension strategies and skills.

With comprehension questions and activities for each chapter the units can be followed chapter by chapter, with no extra preparation or planning required by the teacher. As a video production teacher, one of the most important parts of my class is to make sure that my students can write a script. Whether it’s the script for the daily news show or the script for a short film, the process is still the same...it’s basic writing. I take a week at the beginning of the semester to talk about script writing in general. Here are those plans.
