Black History Month Activities - Rosa Parks Emergent Reader

This is a seven-page booklet about Rosa Parks that will be a great addition to your study during Black History Month. It is ideal for young readers because there are only one or two sentences on each page. The booklet comes in two sizes: half pages (to save on copies) or a full size page booklet for easier coloring. My students LOVE interactive storyboards! This activity would be a perfect way to finish up your study over Martin Luther King, Jr. It includes open-ended questions, vocabulary and a timeline to list five important events in MLK's lifetime. Children are very creative and can use the artwork and their own imaginations to embellish and make it their own. I use file folders as the base but large manila or construction paper can be used as well. I've included pictures to give you an idea of how to arrange it.
