Where do kids start?

Kids can start on any puzzles and complete the puzzles in ANY order!

How do you know if their answers are correct?

There is an answer key provided in the PDF.

How do I set up the activity?

Just print and play! Everything you need is included in your download. You don’t need locks, envelopes, or special equipment. You can hang or hide the puzzles or just spread them out on the kitchen table.

Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?

Encourage your students with hands on learning! Students practice sight words by building the words with snap cubes. This set includes the all 220 Dolch sight / high frequency word, from the primer, pre-primer, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade & 3rd Grade lists. These would be great for a literacy or a sight word center. Students who finish early can color in the blocks on the sheet. Save by buying all 5 lists in one bundle! Each word is presented 3 different ways. The first way is the snap block word with lined space below it for the student to trace the sight word, then write it themselves. The second is just the snap block word. The third is the snap block word on a half sheet of paper. This bundle of alphabet mystery puzzles is the perfect literacy center to help students gain confidence with letter recognition and beginning sounds. What are puzzle mats?

Puzzle Mats are just that - a puzzle! Students build a puzzle by placing the matching puzzle piece on top of the matching letter or picture. The goal for this activity is to identify the correct letter or picture match to reveal the mystery puzzle picture.

CKLA follows the Science of Reading. Many schools are moving to the Science of Reading and adopting curricula like CKLA however not purchasing printable resources.
