Beatitudes Bible Walk Activity: Discussion, Mini-Posters, & Write the Room

This beatitudes activity is ready to print and used! Students will analyze the beatitudes, deepen their understanding of the meaning, and create mini-posters to show their knowledge.

Instructions

•Print pages that include the beatitudes in FOUR different bible translations and hang up around the room.

•Students read the individual posters and discuss with partners or small groups. The various translations help students understand the meaning of the beatitudes. Translations used are NRSVCE, CEV, MSG, and ICB. These translations were chosen to guide students from the more traditional format of the beatitudes (Blessed are...) to versions that are more contemporary and include more common classes (You will be blessed or will be happy).

•Students take notes on the beatitudes using a graphic organizer.

•Students create a poster demonstrating an understanding of the beatitudes on a honey-comb mini-poster.

•Discussion prompts are also included that will guide students to analyze the beatitudes and notice synonyms and idioms that are present throughout different translations.
