Students read or watch A Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my students read A Christmas Carol and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, for an engaging activity before the holiday. A Christmas Carol was a challenge for the students, so watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a fun distraction.

Students will take notes on the provided worksheets to help keep track of information and make connections in a visual format. Notetaking helps keep students engaged in both stories. This also helps the students look at well know material in a new way.

Students can reach connections and have discussions with the information they gather.

I have a dream writing prompt is perfect for the month of January when we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. and his influence he made on the world. This writing prompts gives a little information on Dr. King Jr's dream for the world and then asks the students what dream they have that could make the world a better place. This opinion writing gives students the opportunity to learn a little about MLK and then brainstorm how they can make a difference in the world.

This product relates to the ERA of Colonization of the United States. Students are given a list of items to which they can choose to pack for their travels to the Regions of the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies, writing them on the appropriate suitcases. Students will then write the reasons they chose the items for the colonies, writing them on the appropriate luggage tags. Student answers will vary and they may justify answers differently. ** Are you looking for a resource to teach students to understand temporal concepts or are you Teaching sequence of events, Following directions or Sentence writing?  These syntax activities will teach your students how to understand 25, higher level temporal concepts (prior to, simultaneous, thereafter). It is a simple drill in which students are provided with a small scenario containing the word and asked to determine the meaning of the concept.**

You will receive a 26 Slide Lesson which contains the lesson and one Assessment worksheet to print.

The Lesson works well with older students (Grades 6- 10)  or with students who have mild  cognitive delays yet good language skills. An independent lesson will take about 30 minutes however if you are using it as a teaching tool during instruction the lesson can easily fill 60 minutes with breaks in between for group discussion. When I use this lesson with my Speech classroom it takes two  30 minute sessions and 60 minutes total.
