Middle School Reading Strategies Internet Activities

This flip book goes through all the main characters of the novel. It includes graphic organizers for your students to fill out in order to better understand character development. It makes a great study guide and a good way to have your students understand the differences and similarities between the different characters of the novel. Offers differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all your students!

Whether it's in person or online, your students will LOVE this coffee-themed summarizing activity and printables set. Using the SWBST visual prompt strategy, students will learn and practice summarizing a story (ANY story!) by stating the main character, what the character wanted, the problem, the solution, and the resolution. Ideas for differentiation are included to easily meet the needs of all of your students.

This resource can be used during a unit of study on the election process and/or can be used during the yearly Presidential State of the Union Address in January. I have also included a worksheet that students could be given to use if they should watch the State of the Union Address.

Part of my Ms. Bie Ografee series of plays, this Reader's Theater Script is on the "Father of the Constitution", James Madison(1751-1836), and his sharing with students the history of the writing of the Constitution. Madison who would become the 4th President of the United States(1809-1817)), played a very important role in the forming of our US Constitution. In addition to being a delegate, he introduced the first additions to the Constitution(amendments) which came to be known as the Bill of Rights. The term FAKE News seems to be used a lot these days! April Fool's Day is a great opportunity to begin a discussion with students on FAKE and REAL news.

I have a student version....just send me a note and I'd be happy to send it along.

A recent survey found that many young people(and adults for that matter) can't seem to determine which is a real news story from a fake news story. We need to develop digital critical literacy with our students so they can try and determine the difference BEFORE they hit "send" to all their friends.
