When giving this to students, they'll come up with different correct answers than other peers. There is no answer key for this reason. Most families should have (or be able to buy for cheap) the measuring tools.

To ensure students don't just throw down random answers, you may consider one of the following:

• having them bring in the measurement tools (and measured items) as a show-and-tell the next day
• having them take pictures and uploading them somewhere (unless they have their own devices to display them)
• honor system - because this should be more about fun than pressure, and if they decide to be deceitful, they'll simply miss out on the activity and probably realize their mistake when students share the next day
• Your own method - I've given you a blank instructions sheet to fill in your own

I love this resource to send home at the end of kindergarten as many parents want to continue to give their child learning opportunities during the summer. It is also a good introduction to what students will learn in 1st grade and parents are able to see what their child needs to work on.
