Kindergarten Spelling Task Cards

This set contains over 100 unique CVC cards where students can complete hands on word work activities. This set is differentiated for students at all levels of phonics for CVC words. This phonics based CVC center provides an easy to follow literacy center for students to use over several weeks of learning to spell and read CVC words.

How to Use

CVC Words Self Checking Reading and Blending Cards

CVC Sentences Reading Center

Practice reading and spelling CVCe words. Students can get practice filling in the missing letters in the magic e words. Print the silent e letter tiles in a different color to show students the E does not make a sound!

This set contains 35 unique CVCe cards where students can complete hands on word work activities. There is a set of cards that focus on beginning sounds, middle sounds, magic e, as well as a set that focuses on spelling the CVCe words.

This is a low prep center where you just need to print, laminate and cut out the cards. You can mark clothespins with the correct letters for students to clip to the cards in the correct space. You can use the letter tiles provided in this packet to complete the cards. You can also use magnetic letters, wooden or plastic letter tiles, or any other letter manipulative to fill in the missing letters.

(Optional) Add Velcro dots to the cards with the missing letters and tiles so they stick easily.

CVCe Spelling BOOM Cards

Practice identifying beginning, medial vowel, and ending sounds with these clip cards. Students will use clothes pins or clips to mark the sound on each clip card. These cards make a great literacy center for students working on this phonics skill. There are two versions of the cards to allow for differentiation. See the preview for examples of each type of card.

Letter Recognition Clip Cards for All Four Seasons

You will find 4 different CVCe word work centers in this bundle. Students can practice how the magic e at the end of the word causes the vowel to become long.

The following products are in this bundle:

1. CVCe Spelling Word Cards - This set of cards contains CVCe words and letter tiles for students to fill the missing letters on the word cards. There are cards for reviewing beginning sounds, long vowels, and spelling the entire word.

4. CVCe vs. CVC Clip Cards - Each clip card has a picture of a CVCe or a CVC word and students must put the clip on the correct spelling of the word.

These visually pleasing CVC Picture Word Task Cards focus on sounding and spelling and helps students build fluency, build background knowledge of CVC words and pictures, and practice letter-sound correspondence. Task Cards include short vowel A, E, I, O, U.

Set #1: (256 Task Cards - (128 in COLOR and 128 in Black and White WITH CVC Words)

Set #1 Task Cards include the CVC Words above the picture. The colored Task Cards contain the vowel letter in the color red. For the Black and White Task Cards, the CVC word is printed in plain black above the picture.

Set #2: (256 Task Cards - (128 in COLOR and 128 in Black and White WITHOUT CVC Words)

Set #2 Task Cards include just the CVC pictures without the CVC words displayed above them. These picture Task Cards come in color and black and white. Students look at the pictures and say the CVC word that corresponds to it. You can simply print out the Black and White Task Cards and have them color the picture and write the corresponding CVC word on the task card.

*** There are 128 DIFFERENT Picture and Word Task Cards. These 128 Picture/Word Task Cards are differentiated in 4 different ways.

Both sets of Task Cards have a variety of uses. They are great for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade letter-sound review. They can be used in centers, small groups, tutoring, as a hands-on morning work activity, for early finishers, home-school activity, literacy center, etc.
