Contents:
This Letter Q Write the Room Activity includes 12 images that begin with the letter Q, such as "quilt" and "queen." Students will find these images spread around the classroom and use one of the four recording sheets to track their discoveries. Two recording sheets are designed with images for early learners, while two feature primary lines for writing practice. The set also includes word walls in two forms—cut-out strips for notebooks or the classroom and a poster with images and their names. How the Product is Used:
To begin, teachers print the materials on 8.5x11 sheets in either color or black and white. After cutting out the cards, they hide them around the room for students to find. This is a collection of sight word games that I created for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. Each game, you are catching some sort of animal with the sight words written on them.

**These activities will take some prep. Other materials you will need will be popsicle sticks, glue/tape, and scissors**

Between 1 to 4 students can play this game. To play the game, you will need to lay out the animals with the words facing up. Have students sit or stand beside each other with the nets in their hands, holding them all in the same position (so no one tries to cheat). Then call out a word. Students will race to find and catch the animals with the word on it first. Whichever student catches the animal first, they take that animal and add it to their pile. Once all the animals are caught, have students count up how many they have. Whoever has the most wins.

This is for the first 50 Fry sight words. I use it as practice after instruction in my special education classroom, but it would be good for independent practice in the general education classroom. The color, find, trace, read format offers a variety of practice to solidify sight word skills.

Practice reading sight words with these sight word sentences. These sight word fluency sentences provide students with a fun way to practice reading sight words.

Students will read the sentence containing the sight word. They will then write the sentence and finally, draw a picture about the sentence. Each sight word is represented with its own page.

• The lesson wraps up with an anchor chart for the room for reference to the Hard C and Soft C rule with the characters of Cat and Mice that students won't forget.
• Follow up with a Bump it Game in Center rotations for a few days and finally, an assessment of the skill with a Word Sort with variations for different learning levels.
