BUNDLE: Ballpoint People Teach the Alphabet & Parts of Speech *ALL LETTERS A-Z*

By Early Childhood Essentials

NEW JUNE 2024:

get a LETTERS ONLY version or a PARTS OF SPEECH only version.

Special note about this resource, and its line of related resources: I've discounted this bundle a bit steeper than most bundles I have, mostly because there are various formats you can purchase this, including:

  • all letters, parts of speech and reading (this one)
  • all letters, parts of speech only (linked above)
  • all letters, reading only (linked above)
  • only vowels, parts of speech and reading (linked here)
  • only consonants, parts speech and reading (linked here)
  • *even individual letters in case you're working on certain letters over wider ranges of time (though this would be the rarest case, and the priciest if you end up buying them all at some point)

*I recommend only getting individual letter sets if you're only working on one, few, or some, because my best deal for ALL letters comes from the other combined resources or bundles.

I consider this line of resources very dear to me, as I created this "Ballpoint People" idea for the design, and I wanted a variety of options for the varying needs out there.

This one might suit homeschooling families or more Montessori-type schools, where multiple ages/grades are in the same place. But you may only want letters for younger learners, or only parts of speech for older learners. You also may only want the vowels or consonants for different reasons.

I've priced each option as fairly as I could while still being fair to myself. Creators take into account both size of their resource, value provided, and time/effort put in, and I try very hard to create a wide range of resources at all fair prices. I hope you think so too!

These activities at the most basic level introduce children to words that correspond to the key letter, but to enhance learning and create collaboration, include older siblings / children.

Activities within:

  • read an excerpt on each ballpoint person, w/bolded words that focus on key letter
  • reading comprehension questions (2-4 each letter)
  • parts of speech - circle the part each bolded word is

The reading comp and parts of speech pages may be more appropriate for older children (4-6th grade); the letter name/sound activity in the bolded words is better for younger kids (under grade 4). Depending on learning level, special needs, etc. some of this will be review or perhaps too challenging with only one age group or child. It's flexible on purpose!

I also have individual letter sets! Those previews show you more of what each activity (above) looks like! So check them out if you want more details before purchasing.

But your best value is with any of the bundles, including this one.

  • consonants bundle
  • vowels bundle

Letters and Sounds: Lesson Plans

By K3 Homeschool Foundations

I created a curriculum that provides a simple, effective, and engaging way to teach your child their letters.

Parents: This resource is simple and effective so that you can teach your child the foundational literacy skills they need. You don’t need a fancy degree to help your child succeed.

Teachers: You don’t have time to teach aides and parent volunteers how to teach literacy skills effectively. With this resource, you can print it, hand it off, and know your students are taken care of.

This curriculum will help your child master:

  • Important phonological awareness skills
  • Letter name and sound of letters
  • Differentiation of upper and lowercase letters
  • The penmanship of each letter
  • An introduction to reading two-letter words

What's included:

  • Detailed lesson plans
  • Sound cards
  • Phonological awareness practice: Syllable awareness, beginning sound, & phonemic awareness
  • Independent practice for letter names and sounds
  • Upper and lowercase letter sort
  • Penmanship boards
  • Independent practice for penmanship
  • Review of previously taught letters using games and multi-sensory activities
  • Assessments for every 5 letters
  • An introduction to reading two-letter words
  • Videos to help you effectively teach phonological awareness and letters

I created this curriculum using the most researched and effective methods to teach children early literacy skills. The Science of Reading research has been shown to teach 95% of children to read and write effectively. Structured Literacy provides an explicit and systematic approach to teaching important literacy skills.

I have used this resource with children who are beginning to learn their letters and children who are struggling to master their letters, so I know it works. My students master their letters gain confidence and enjoy learning letters with the resources and methods laid out in this curriculum.

Don't miss this opportunity to set your child up for success in their foundational literacy skills.
