Looking for a way to incorporate the Little Blue Truck books into your music classroom or jazz up your reading time of the Little Blue Truck series? These songs written for the Little Blue Truck books summarize what happens in the book while using the almost the same exact melody. Once your students have learned the first melody for Little Blue Truck, the melody stays mostly the same but the lyrics change with each different Little Blue Truck book that you own. This makes it easier to plug into future lessons involving these books. Included in this collection are Little Blue Truck, Little Blue Truck Time for School, Little Blue Truck's Halloween, Little Blue Truck's Christmas, Little Blue Truck Makes a Friend, Good Night Little Blue Truck, and Little Blue Truck's Valentine's Day. Use these books to help your students learn the triplet rhythm! The rhythm and beat charts help with decoding triplets and the worksheets provided help with the practice of writing a triplet rhythm. In addition, you can discuss and explore social emotional learning with "A Hug is for Holding Me." Use these chants to introduce more literature into the classroom and make the books you are using relevant to music! Use the chant to "Freeda the Cheetah" to explore movement and play along with rhythm sticks. Follow up with a lesson on rhyming words. The chant for "One Lonely Fish" is perfect for keeping a steady beat and making this book more engaging for your little ones. Use the chant in "Pokko and the Drum" to play along with Pokko the frog on her adventures. "The Very Quiet Cricket" is great for teaching whisper voice. Finally, try to wake up the elephant from his sleep in "Wakey, Wakey, Elephant"! Use the additional activities with the some of the chants to extend your lessons. Can be used across several grade levels PreK-2nd grade.

When it comes time to discuss timbre, instrument families, ranges, and the alike, you need instant samples of instruments. I used to do it the old way -- finding a specific piece of music, cueing it up in the CD player or mp3, and implement it in my lesson. It took a lot of time and extra preparation on my part to find those clips and segment them for my class... Here's the solution -- Band and Orchestra Instrument Samples. Included are 25 REAL sampled instruments, all the way from the Piccolo down to the Marimba. The ENCORE Book includes 20 MORE SOLOS and 18 MORE ACTIVITIES to tide your drummer over until they get into Level 2.

Solos in Level 1 ENCORE use the simplified 3 line staff found in Unit 6 of the Level 1 method book and incorporate all the instruments on a drumset.

Rock'n'Rollin 1 ENCORE can be used in tandem with the Level 1 method book, or as a transition from Level 1 into Level 2.
