Additionally, the last page of this resource is designed to be printed as a backside. It provides extra lines for students to write more sentences, allowing for further practice and exploration of the high-frequency words.

Seasons Bundle Adapted books (Spring, summer, winter & fall = 16 books)

This bundle includes adaptive Books with a theme of the four seasons covering a variety of topics. While these books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year!
These adaptive books are created with various students in mind, as our classrooms can be diverse! I have also found even my most reluctant readers are more eager to participate in learning activities when I pull out interactive activities such as these books. While the books have eight icons to use as choices, you can adapt by providing less when reading and asking follow-up questions.
Winter
Book 1: Wintertime Fun
Students will listen to a short story using repetitive text paired with actions. The sentence will read, "In the winter, I like to...". After reading the sentences, have students select the correct action: sledding, ice hockey, snow angels, snowboarding, riding a ski lift, snowy nights, ice skating & building a snowman.
Book 2: Colorful Winter
Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on winter items. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.
Book 3: Clothing we wear
I have provided two levels with a focus on the clothing we wear. The first level is supported with a corresponding picture so students can match the items. The second level is only words.
Book 4: Snow Day
This short story concerns the school being called off due to too much snow. There are ten interactive pages in this book.
Fall
Book 1: Leaves are Falling
Students will listen to a short story about fall days & what we can expect during this season. An adorable bear ends our short story raking and playing in the colorful fall leaves. This story is colorful.
Book 2: Colorful Fall
Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on fall & 8 different colors. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.
Book 3: Fun in the Fall
A variety of activities are represented in this book. Students will continue developing high-frequency words with the repetitive text "In the fall, I like to." Activities include hiking, school, bake sale, football, picking apples, picking pumpkins, carving pumpkins & a bond fire with smores.
Book 4: Fall Clothing
This book has students selecting the correct items of clothing. This book is Each page has "I want to," followed by "so I need." For example, students will select sunny days, swimming, and gardening items.
Summer
Book 1: Let's Go on a Picnic
Students will listen to a repetitive text & select the right food from a choice of 8 items. Each page states, "We/I like to eat," identifies a food, and provides picture support. Follow up with discussions by having students determine if they also like each item mentioned. Foods included: drink, hamburger, hotdog, tomato, watermelon, smores, corn on the cob, and ice cream.
Book 2: Summertime Colors
Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on summer & 10 different colors. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.
Book 3: Things to Do in the Summer
This book has vibrant colors to enhance the feeling of summer. A variety of activities are represented in this book. Students will continue developing high-frequency words with the repetitive text "I like to." Activities include baseball, catching bugs, fishing, picnics, swimming, having a lemonade stand, and bubbles.
Book 4: What to Wear in the Summer
This book has students selecting the correct items of clothing for each situation presented. Each page has "I want to," followed by "so I need." For example, students will select sunny days, swimming, and gardening items.
Spring
Book 1: Spring Flowers, helps young learners identify different flower colors. Each page features small flowers that correspond with the color being discussed, making it easier for children to understand and remember the information.
Book 2: Spring Actions, includes two options, a color and low-color version, to save ink. It encourages children to explore and learn about various activities and actions associated with the spring season.
Book 3: Spring Weather, is an interactive storybook that engages students in discussions about different types of weather that occur in spring. It also includes a unique perspective from my home state, Ohio, where snow can still occur during this season.
Book 4: Spring Matching, provides students an opportunity to match pictures of items we may see in the spring.

This set of 20 adapted books with a focus on animals in different habitats: Polar, Ocean, Rainforest, Desert and Wetlands. Each habitat has 4 books providing tiered support for your students. This is a total of 20 books, and the option to use with a variety of students. I have also included a Bonus print and go packet for follow up activities after you have read the books with your students.
Each habitat has 4 books (for a total of 20 books) representing different levels:
Level 1 - This book is not adaptive, it is a simple read aloud featuring details about the animals in each habitat.
Level 2 - This book contains 8 icons (ocean has 10) colorful pages (laminate and reuse again and again) & a visual prompting to support comprehension.
Level 3 - This book contains color icons, remainder of book is in black and white with visual supports for animal identification. Each page of the book has a sentence, and a place to put the icon after reading the sentence.
Level 4 - This book contains color icons, remainder of book is in black and white without visual supports. Each page of the book has a sentence, and a place to put the icon after reading the sentence.

What is Included:
In this literacy center, students will read the sentences and then match the sentence with the correct picture. This will make a great literacy center for students learning the short vowel word families and practicing reading comprehension.
Ways to Use
These simple sentence and picture cards all students to have a hands on way to practice reading comprehension as well as practice words in each word family. They will have fun and stay engaged as they complete this activity. Students can work alone or with a partner to complete this literacy activity.
Skills Assessed:
This phonics center is low prep. The teacher simply needs to print each page, cut apart and laminate for a reusable center. The pieces can be stored inside a pencil box for easy set up and storage.
